about the II/V gallery

The set of photographs in this exhibit cover a range of work. Some of them are older and are enriched by silver content of the paper, old school photography as it has become. The oldest image in this exhibit is about 20 years old, “last Grasp” and some of them are new, “Streaming”
The themes in this show; All my sons, Spirited People Portraits, Life and Death in the Wild, Love Spirit.
I’ve always been a part of music, always. So that vibe is usually running through my image making somehow.
As an artist who records, I feel that you can predict, react, and then compose elements. You can be surprised as well, just be ready. This is a formula applied in jazz. This is how I work as a Photographer.
Some of these images are local to the Evanston community where I currently reside. You will see Lee street beach, the park at main and ridge, our old apartment a few blocks from the lake.
Some of the spirited people portraits are in Chicago and one is from Detroit.
The animals are from Ann Arbor, Chicago and Yellowstone, The plant life and death is occurring in Yellowstone as well.
A Love Spirit arose in Yellowstone too.
All my Sons’ images were created while we were living near the lake in Evanston. Here is a link to my website. www.stevengodfreyartwork.com
Thank You, Steven Godfrey
